Notes on stillness | When I was a young girl just turned 8, my family and I moved from the south west of London straight to the south west of France. One of my strongest and fondest memories was hiding behind a hay stack and lying down in the long, coarse grass watching the clouds go by.
Our field, at that age, seemed endless. As did the lake that sat peacefully at the bottom of it.
It was then that I started to chase the sun by cupping my hands over my eyes and slowly following it’s dancing beams.
It was then also, when all was perfectly still, that I unconsciously started to listen to my inner voice.
Then came along studying, working, partying, internet, phones, social network & it all came to an end.
I have come across my inner voice again, but never the sheer beauty of that state of ‘stillness’.

What is currently making me happy | Notes on art work .

On this sinuous journey of life, of self-discovery and healing, one of the activities that is bringing me the most inner peace and enhancing my transformation is developing my art work.

For one of the first times in my life, the only pursuit I am eager to connect to this activity is ‘research’. Not result, not appraisal, not business development. Nothing but a simple form of self expression, similar to when I meditate, reflect or write.

As I intuitively mix the colours to match my present moods, thoughts and emotions, I gain an understanding of my soul that I was oblivious to untill that point.

Oh the sheer freedom of it all. I can’t express how strongly I feel about this newly found, life saving gift.

Notes about fear | Lately I have been thinking alot about fear. About how you think it defines you untill it doesn’t.

How you think one day that you were born with certain fears, untill you realise that you have gained them over time. How people and circumstances have unconsciously and unwillingly conditionned you - and you them - without realising it.

I have been thinking about how fear prevents you from experiencing so much about life, but mainly the way it creeps up without you knowing it. One day you are creating a secure, comfort zone for yourself, the next that same zone is eating you alive.

I think that like everything, step number one is recognising a situation, and in this case recognising when you get a bit too comfortable. So much so that your life could hold in a box. Breaking out of that box, walking straight into the face of your fears, one by one, at your own rythm, is the magical step number two. Because at the end of the day, nothing in your life, other than your own ‘self’, should and can ever define you.

My Intentions for this new moon | To not have any

My Intentions for this new moon | To not have any 〰️

The last couple of years have been very overwhelming from a personal point of view. Whether it family, partners or friends, every situation has obliged me to rethink my place in this time and plane. To question what is actually important about me being here, what I have to give to this life and most of all, what true love and self acceptance should feel like (and not ‘look like’).

So for this new moon in virgo, I will simply continue to explore, with it’s ups and downs, what I have started to undertake over the past few months :
~ radical acceptance and self love (the latter being the most trying for the moment) through learning to say no & not trying to please other people at all costs, resting when I need to and feeding myself properly (nothing that involves under or over eating)
~ in depth conversation with my inner feelings and emotions through spiritual development, meditation, writing and painting

It does not seem that much. But it’s actually huge for me. The shift is real and for a breezy, multiple air sign, it means a lot to stay centered around all that.
